Ministries discuss compatibility of Russian software, processors

MOSCOW, Nov 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry and the Industry and Trade Ministry are discussing the requirement of compulsory compatibility of national software from the register and national processors, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Tuesday.

“We’ll request compatibility, but it will not happen fast. We’ll give it some time. We’re discussing it with the Industry and Trade Ministry, in what part and how it should be done. Two registers, and their matching is an important matter,” Shadayev said.

Developers can be asked to invest additionally in support of the national processors if only it is tied to extra demand, he said.
